Bank Registered Nurse for Endoscopy

We are currently recruiting to our Trust’s Temporary Staffing Team - Bank on Us and we are seeking Registered Nurses with a valid NMC registration that have post grad experience working in Endoscopy within an acute hospital setting in the UK. You must work well in a team and be reliable and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills, as well as adaptable and flexible to changing situations, working within Trust policies and the NMC Code of Conduct.

The Endoscopy unit is based at the St Peter's site, and operates from 8am to 7pm, 7 days a week, and is committed to delivering a high-quality patient focused service. The Nursing Team covers a variety of procedures and duties including Gastrointestinal bleed, nurse consent, pre assessment, non-endoscopic procedures like Manometry, Small Bowel and Colon Capsule Endoscopy, Breath Tests, Fibroscan, specialist procedure like EUS, EBUS, ERCP, Spyglass and Medical Thoracoscopy

Once you have completed the Bank Pre-Registration process you will be booked to attend the Trust's Induction Programme, this is approx. 5/6 days. This commitment is required to support and enhance your current skills and knowledge.

Main duties of the job

Undertaking shifts as a Bank Registered Nurse on a temporary basis in a  within the Endoscopy Unit.

Working effectively and efficiently and in collaboration with the multi professional teams to deliver high quality and individualised patient care.

Be responsible to the nurse in charge, delivering direct patient care as assigned and assisting with procedures and tests.

The role is varied, equally challenging and rewarding, where you will have the opportunity to really make a difference to the experience of our patients.

Working as a Bank Registered Nurse in Endoscopy within the hospital setting.

Carry out assigned tasks involved with direct patient care whilst maintaining the privacy and dignity of patients. This will be whilst demonstrating excellent care, compassion and communication, working alongside the multidisciplinary team, incorporating:

  • Delivering high quality direct patient care.
  • Following patient admission/transfer/discharge processes.
  • Medication administration.
  • Monitoring patients
  • Participating in procedures
  • Accountable to nurse in charge of each shift and supporting junior colleagues.
