
To monitor and manage patient call data forwarded from the Out of Hours call centre, ensuring clinicians are able to deal with all patients appropriately.
To receive patients visiting the Primary Care Centre for health care.
GP Out of Hours provides an urgent care service for primary care patients when the GP surgery is closed. Patients can be given telephone advice, attend a the Primary Care Centre or be visited at home if appropriate. GP Out of Hours services are delivered from Primary Care Centre’s and are open weekday evenings from 18.00-08.00 and weekends and bank holidays 24 hours.
Shift patterns:
1745-2300 (Mon-Fri)
0800-1300 (Sat-Sun)
1300-1815 (Sat-Sun)
1815-2330 (Sat-Sun)
A GP OOH receptionist's main duties include providing IT support and managing patient data, receiving and assisting patients at the Primary Care Centre, ensuring staff log in/out per procedures, and forwarding call details to the GP OOH vehicle. Handle general enquiries, maintain equipment, and support GPs with chaperoning when needed. Flexibility and excellent customer care skills are essential.
