We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 4 Children's Physiotherapy Technician to join our friendly and supportive Children's Physiotherapy Service. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside Physiotherapists and multidisciplinary colleagues, supporting children and young people with a wide range of physical, developmental and neurological needs across Gloucestershire.
As a key member of the team, you will work with children and families in a variety of settings including clinics, schools, nurseries, community settings and family homes. You will deliver delegated treatment programmes, support the provision and review of equipment, assist with therapy interventions and contribute to the smooth running of the service.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with previous therapy assistant, healthcare support worker, education, rehabilitation or children's services experience who is looking to further develop their skills within a specialist children's therapy service.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of the Children's Physiotherapy Service, supporting the delivery of physiotherapy interventions to children and young people aged 0-18 years across a range of settings.
The post holder will undertake delegated clinical and non-clinical activities under the direction of a registered Physiotherapist, implementing treatment programmes, supporting the provision and review of equipment, maintaining accurate records and contributing to the effective running of the service.
The role will support children, young people, families, carers and partner agencies to achieve agreed therapeutic outcomes whilst working within clearly defined competencies and professional boundaries.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Deliver delegated physiotherapy programmes following assessment and treatment planning by a qualified Physiotherapist.
- To undertake assessments with the physiotherapist and to deliver interventions without direct supervision
- Support children and young people to participate in therapeutic activities and exercises.
- Undertake delegated assessments and interventions within agreed competencies.
- Monitor progress and identify changes in presentation, reporting concerns appropriately.
- Support the assessment, issue, adjustment and review of therapeutic equipment.
- Provide advice and demonstrations to parents, carers and education staff regarding treatment programmes and equipment use.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
- Support the delivery of physiotherapy services across a range of settings.

Essential
- Previous experience of working in a health and/or social care environment. Working as part of a therapy and/or multidisciplinary team.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as individually
- The ability to adapt to changes in work routine
Desirable
- Experience in the use of electronic record keeping
- Good organisation skills
Qualifications
Essential
- Level 5 Assistant Practitioner Certificate (Certificate required at interview).
- GCSE C grade maths and English, or Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English. (Certificates required at interview).
