We are looking to recruit an Immunisation nurse to join our friendly, highly skilled Occupational Health team.

Occupational health is an attractive speciality that attracts clinicians who work set daytime hours (no nights or on calls), the offer of some flexibility and hybrid working around clinic commitments and in addition to the opportunity to make a real difference to staff health and wellbeing and safety.

In this role you will deliver a range of clinical activities including fitness for work assessments, vaccinations, venepuncture, contact tracing and support following staff needlestick or body fluid exposure. You will provide timely, compassionate advice to staff and managers, using sound clinical reasoning and the ability to prioritise effectively.

Main duties of the job

This is a clinic based role, with your main focus on:

New starter (Pre-placement) health assessments Occupational health vaccinations and associated blood tests, including interpretation of results and determining the appropriate follow-up Supporting clinical advice to employees via the OH administration email service. Support, advice and management of exposure to infectious diseases / exposure to blood and body fluids.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

  • Registered Nurse with current registration with NMC
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Experience in Nurse led Practice
  • Understanding of the Occupational Health role of the Immunisation Nurse
  • IT literate - Microsoft Outlook, email and internet use

Desirable

  • Teaching and Assessing
  • Working knowledge of current Health & Safety Regulations
  • National Minimum Standards for Immunisation Training
