Complex Care Administrator: •    Will provide a high-quality service for CLCH to support in the effective delivery of the Continuing Healthcare (CHC) Appeals process, and back log clearance.  •    Will be the first point of contact for all CHC appeals. •    Will liaise with clinicians, appellants and/or their representatives, and NHS England to ensure all appeals regarding Continuing Healthcare are robust, transparent, and timely.  •    Will independently co-ordin   ate appeals within set time scales. The post holder will collect and collate all data relating to appeals completion and present reports.

  • Ability to manipulate data in spreadsheets, and present information in different formats i.e. graphs, charts etc.
  • Ability to translate performance reports into operational action.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good telephone and interpersonal skills
  • Empathetic and able to stay calm under highly emotional conversation with members of the public and other stakeholders.
  • Able to present reports to the heads of service, clinical leads or other middle to senior management staff routinely or when required.

Education/Qualification

Essential

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures, project management or information analysis in CHC
  • Basic knowledge of project principles
  • Previously worked in similar position within the public sector
  • Excellent knowledge of a range of administrative processes and procedures to establish own practices.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of various computer packages used within the NHS.
  • Knowledge of data protection principles.
  • Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality. Clear knowledge of the importance of Health & Safety Regulations in the workplace.
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office Software, and advanced keyboard skills
  • Working within an office environment.
  • Significant experience at Senior Secretary/Administrator level within the NHS.
  • Significant experience of working within a busy and high-profile environment with complex issues, competing priorities and workloads.
  • Knowledge of an extensive range of NCL policies and procedures.
  • Experience of taking minutes and action notes at meetings.
  • Touch typist with a minimum typing speed of 40 – 60 words per minute.
  • Establish and maintain office administrative processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Create, develop, and maintain Excel databases, presenting concerns, progress information, monitor and draft improvement plans.
  • Ability to successfully negotiate solutions, resource and time skills using tact and persuasion.
  • Skills for supporting project management.
  • Skills for managing aspects of projects ensuring they meet financial targets.
  • Co-ordination of complex processes and pathways

Desirable

  • Management / Supervisory qualification.
  • Minute taking qualification.
  • RSA III typing qualification or equivalent skills and knowledge.
