An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Band 8a Neuropsychiatry Service Manager. The postholder will provide senior operational and strategic leadership for Neuropsychiatry services at the Barberry, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality care. The post holder will work closely with clinical teams, senior managers and partner organisations to oversee service performance, quality, governance, risk, workforce and financial management. The role will support continuous improvement, promote evidence-based practice and provide visible leadership to ensure services remain responsive, efficient and focused on the needs of service users and carers.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide visible operational leadership for Neuropsychiatry services, ensuring safe, effective and high-quality service delivery. They will oversee service performance, quality, clinical governance, risk management, workforce planning and budgetary control, while supporting Team Managers and clinical teams to deliver agreed outcomes. The role will also lead service improvement, strengthen partnership working, respond to incidents and complaints, and ensure learning is embedded across the service to support continuous improvement and positive outcomes for service users and carers.

Essential
- Professional qualification in a relevant health or social care discipline (e.g. Nursing, Psychology, Allied Health Professional, Social Work)
- Current professional registration (e.g. NMC, HCPC or equivalent)
- Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in leadership or service development
Experience and Knowledge
Essential
- Experience of working with people with complex neuropsychiatric needs, including mental health, cognitive, behavioural and communication difficulties associated with neurological conditions.
- Significant experience within mental health or specialist services
- Experience leading or managing multidisciplinary teams
- Experience of service improvement or transformation
Desirable
- Experience of working within mental health and/or neuropsychiatry services.
