Job summary
As a Staff Nurse, you will act as the named nurse for your patients, taking responsibility for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating individualised care. You will work closely with experienced nurses, consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team, caring for patients with complex haematological and oncological needs. You will advocate for patients, help them understand their treatment and make sure their physical, psychological and social needs are supported.
Main duties of the job
What we're looking for * A Registered Nurse with current NMC registration. * At least one year of post registration experience in an acute setting. * Oncology or haematology nursing experience and a sound understanding of acute nursing care. * A cancer foundation course and haematology course, or equivalent knowledge and experience. * A recognised chemotherapy administration qualification, such as ENB 237/998, UKONS SACT or equivalent. * Experience with central venous access devices and phlebotomy. * Strong communication skills and the ability to organise and prioritise your workload effectively. * Experience in malignant haematology or stem cell transplantation would be an advantage, along with knowledge of stem cell transplant pathways, JACIE FACT standards, CAR T cell therapy and chemotherapy protocols for haematological malignancies.

The department cares for patients undergoing stem cell transplantation and other specialist treatments for complex haematological and oncological conditions.
