Administration Assistant for The Paediatric Education Team

Band 3 – 1 post

  • hours a week covering a 7 day period inclusive of bank holidays.

Hours of work: 08:30-16:30pm

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Team Administrator to provide high quality administration and clerical support to the Paediatric Education Team, which is based at Lansdowne Health Centre, Winson Green, Birmingham B18 7EE

Main duties of the job

You should be forward thinking, keen to work as part of a team, as well as eager to develop your own skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to manage your workload effectively.

Experience of managing clinical records, data protection, electronic patient records, staff diaries, team inbox and stock orders is essential.

A working knowledge of computer programmes such as Microsoft Office, Powerpoint, Excel, Teams and Sway is essential. Additional programmes such as Slido and Wordwall are utilised by the team therefore a knowledge of these would be advantageous. Future development of the service will involve invoicing external clients for training, experience in raising invoices and purchase orders is desirable.

An Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required.

  • Relevant Administrative experience – including use of electronic patient records, Power point, spread sheets and databases.
  • Evidence of extensive use of computer programmes; outlook, Microsoft word/excel, Slido, Sway & Moodle.
  • Relevant experience of dealing with sensitive and/or complex situations

Skills/knowledge

Essential

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective office systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Able to work on own initiative and be selfmotivated

Qualifications / training

  • GCSE/CSE level C or above passes in English and maths or equivalent qualification/experience
  • NVQ 3 in Business administration or equivalent administrative experience
  • OCR/RSA Stage II or equivalent in typing or word processing
