Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and motivated individual to join our award-winning CAMHS Crisis Care Team at Manchester Foundation Trust. Recently recognised as Clinical Team of the Year at the RMCH Awards, we are a dynamic, compassionate and fast-paced service supporting children, young people and families experiencing mental health crisis, both in the community and within their own homes.
Working alongside a dedicated team of clinicians and support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring our service runs smoothly by delivering high-quality, efficient and professional administrative support. You will support referral processing, data entry, appointment coordination, minute-taking, report circulation and communication with internal and external partners — helping the team respond quickly and effectively to those in need.
This is a great opportunity to work in a supportive multidisciplinary environment where every day is varied and rewarding. You should be organised, adaptable and confident using IT systems, with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. Experience in an NHS, healthcare or frontline support setting would be an advantage, but is not essential.
If you are passionate about making a difference, enjoy working in a team and want to help improve mental health care for young people, we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
As an Administrator within the CAMHS Crisis Care Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery by supporting clinical staff and contributing to high-quality patient and family experience.
You will be responsible for coordinating clinical activity, including processing referrals, managing appointments, maintaining diaries and organising meetings. You will provide professional secretarial support such as preparing letters, clinical reports, and documentation, and ensuring accurate and timely data entry into patient record systems.
You will help maintain service systems and processes, contribute to good communication within the team, and respond to telephone and email enquiries with professionalism and sensitivity. You will support governance, performance reporting and general administrative tasks to help ensure the service runs safely and efficiently.
You will be expected to work flexibly, manage competing priorities, and use your initiative to support clinicians and the wider multidisciplinary team in delivering effective crisis care.
