Site/ Base – Broughton or Carlise (To be agreed with successful applicant)

£25,272.00 PA moving to Band 3 payscale on completion of apprenticeship.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Area Operations team as an Apprentice Administrator, with two positions available based at Broughton or Carlisle. You will be working at the heart of a fast‑paced, friendly and supportive environment, providing high‑quality administrative support that helps our operational and clinical leaders deliver safe and effective services across Cumbria and Lancashire. Alongside gaining hands‑on experience, you will be supported to complete your Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship, developing the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to thrive in an administrative career.

We are looking for a motivated individual who is enthusiastic about learning on the job, enjoys working collaboratively, and wants to make a positive difference by supporting our frontline services. This role is ideal for someone who wants to develop their administrative and organisational skills and takes pride in providing a professional and efficient service that helps improve healthcare across the Cumbria and Lancashire region.

In this varied and rewarding role, you will provide essential administrative support to our Area Operations Senior Leadership Team.

Main duties of the job

A key part of the role involves coordinating a wide range of meetings and events, which includes preparing agendas, collating papers, taking accurate minutes and maintaining action logs to support progress against agreed priorities.

As part of the wider administrative team, the postholder will help manage the area compliments process, ensuring staff are recognised for the positive impact they make. As a key point of contact for the area team, you will manage correspondence professionally and ensure clear, timely communication with colleagues. You will work closely with the wider administrative team to provide flexible support, contribute to a positive team culture and ensure the consistent and high quality delivery of administrative services.

This role will give you valuable experience across a variety of administrative tasks. It offers meaningful responsibility and a supportive environment in which to develop your skills. Applicants with non GSCE or equivalent educational qualifications will be required to provide a statement of comparability via the UK ENIC to make sure that the qualifications match the requirements as stated on the person specification.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • • Previous experience in an administrative support for a busy and diverse team
  • • Experience in minuting meetings, compiling reports and collating meeting packs
  • • Experience with Microsoft Office and associated systems, with strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
