The department of Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering seeks an enthusiastic person to join the Radiotherapy Electronics team, maintaining specialist Radiotherapy Treatment machines within the South West Wales Cancer Centre (SWWCC) at Singleton Hospital.
The service supports a range of state-of-the-art radiotherapy equipment that includes four Elekta linear accelerators (including SGRT and FFF capability), Philips wide-bore CT-scanner, Pinnacle treatment planning system utilising image fusion (ProSoma), auto segmentation and adaptive techniques (Mirada), and a well-developed oncology information management system (Mosaiq), all deployed in a Citrix environment to provide electronic access across the South-West Wales region.
Treatments are delivered for a number of clinical trials and clinical sites using techniques that include IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, 4D options and SGRT. The Cancer Centre has recently undergone an equipment refresh: replacing our four linear accelerators and a dedicated new CT scanner. The SWWCC has an ongoing collaboration agreement with Elekta to develop the next-generation radiotherapy workflow management software tools.
