This is an exciting opportunity to join the Gastroenterology Pharmacy Team based at the Royal Liverpool Hospital. The post‑holder will play a key role in the joint management of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including active involvement in prescribing medicines for this patient group. The role will also support the supervision and development of pharmacists and technicians within gastroenterology, ensuring the provision of a high‑quality, safe and effective clinical pharmacy service.
We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and forward‑thinking clinical pharmacist, ideally with demonstrable experience in gastroenterology, who will act as an integral member of the inflammatory bowel disease multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will undertake specialist IBD review clinics, contribute to and attend IBD MDT meetings, and work closely with consultants, specialist nurses and surgeons to optimise medicines use and support complex clinical decision‑making.
This post is ideally suited to an experienced pharmacist with the ability to provide clinical leadership and take responsibility for the delivery of a proactive, patient‑centred specialist pharmacy service across gastroenterology. The role also offers opportunities to work collaboratively with teams across the organisation as part of the Liverpool Adult Acute and Specialist Providers (LASP) programme, contributing to service development and cross‑site working.

Assist the Lead Divisional Pharmacist for Medicine (Royal site) in the development of pharmacy services and medicines management within the Gastroenterology Directorate.
To provide a safe and effective advanced clinical pharmacy service to the Gastroenterology Directorate.
Assist the Lead Divisional Pharmacist for Medicine (Royal site) in providing clinical training and supervision, relevant to Gastroenterology for other departmental staff.
Provide non-medical prescribing services to the Gastroenterology Directorate.

To provide an advanced clinical service to the Gastroenterology directorate within the Division of Medicine in accordance with professional, departmental and Trust policies
Provide non-medical prescribing services to the Gastroenterology Directorate prescribing medication for IBD patients
