Job overview

To provide a reception service within Cardiff Health Access Practice (CHAP) which is a Nurse led service providing public health screening and signposting service for asylum seekers and refugees arriving and living in Cardiff. It also provides a Safe Haven service for patients who have been removed from their GP practice for a period of time for violent or aggressive behaviour.

Duties will include:

  • general reception duties including the booking of appointments and inputting patient information onto the Clinical Patient Information System (Vision)
  • Maintaining databases and liaising with outside agencies and within the University Health Board (UHB).

Hours of service are currently 8.00am to 6.30pm on a rota basis amongst the administration team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

The main purpose of this job is to:

  • Facilitate access, to medical and other health and social/well-being related appointments for patients who typically experience barriers when accessing healthcare services.
  • Act as a focal point for signposting and communication between patients, doctors, nurses, other members of CAVHIS and external services.
  • Undertake various administration duties associated with patient care and the efficient running of CAVHIS.
