This is an exciting opportunity to join our Mental Health Care Division Admin and Clerical team as a Band 3 Administrator.

This post will work 37.5 hours per week, supporting Mental Health Services - Knowsley.

The successful post holder will, in the first instance, support Recovery Routine Assessment and the reception functions in nearby Knowsley buildings, but will receive dedicated training in order to support the wider MHCD Administrative Service within Knowsley.

Please note that whilst the role is based at Knowsley Resource and Recovery Centre, the service supports the local community and flexibility with travel to different sites will be required to support MDT / Professional Meetings / Reception cover.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have excellent communication and organisational skills.

Typing/WP or demonstrable experience is essential.

Successful applicants will be able to organise their own workload and co-ordinate activities with other administration staff in the team. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly telephone manner.

There is a need to be able to work to tight deadlines and withstand the pressure of a busy department and it is essential that you are able to work on your own initiative.

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Experience of working in an office environment
  • Arranging meetings and taking minutes
  • Extensive knowledge of office procedures
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office eg Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel

Desirable

  • Audio Typing experience
  • Experience of working within the NHS or related healthcare experience
  • Experience of dealing with members of the public
  • Awareness of Recovery Model
  • Awareness of children/vulnerable adults guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Typing/WP RSAIII or equivalent or demonstrable experience

Desirable

  • ECDL
  • NVQ3 Business Administration
  • GCSE Grade A-C English or equivalent

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Ability to work as member of a team
  • Ability to develop, operate and maintain filing systems both manual and electronic
  • Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues in the health care setting
