Job summary

This role is to provide a high quality and efficient support service to the newly formed Organisational Development team, particularly the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion team and Career Pathway team. You will also work flexibly as part of the wider Workforce Directorate ensuring adequate team cover throughout the year.

It is expected that any successful candidate will commence, and complete, a level 3 business administration apprenticeship alongside the role for which support and study leave will be given. The course will be funded by the Trust.

  • Have lived in the UK for at least three years
  • Not be in full-time education
  • Not already hold the same apprenticeship standard or equivalent qualification

Main duties of the job

Provide comprehensive administrative and coordination support to the Organisational Development (OD) team, acting as a key point of contact and managing enquiries, diaries, meetings, and events.

Support the delivery of OD programmes and projects, including staff networks, talent management initiatives, and Trust-wide development activities.

Coordinate communications, maintain accurate records and tracking systems, and contribute to reporting, surveys, and research. Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery, while maintaining confidentiality and high professional standards.

Provide proactive administrative support including preparing meeting documentation, managing resources and procurement, and ensuring the smooth running of OD activities in line with organisational priorities.

The post holder will be supported in their role, working within departmental procedures and operational policies.

The apprenticeship will enable the post holder to develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to become a competent and effective administrative professional.

Experience

Essential

  • A broad range of work procedures and practices, predominantly nonroutine, requiring theoretical knowledge.
  • Good keyboard skills including experience of using a range of Microsoft Office Applications Inc. Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Excellent administrative skills for example, managing general queries, diary management, room bookings, arranging meetings, taking notes and writing up action plans, document management, preparing PowerPoint slides.
  • Experience of supporting projects
  • Able to store and manage data to produce reports and information useful for analysis and tracking progress to ensure effectiveness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be able to problem solve, use own initiative in planning and prioritise own workload.
  • Experience of organising events, including organising event space (setting up technology, preparing tables etc) publicity material, keeping records, managing candidate information, organising consumables and refreshments.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Demonstrable knowledge of administrative procedures, including specialised IT systems, project management, and training practices, gained through formal training or experience equivalent to diploma level (level 4).
  • GCSE passes in English & Maths
