An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Neurology department within the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. We are seeking a part-time (30 hours per week) Administration Coordinator to carefully manage the administrative processes of Day Care and Inpatient admissions.

We are looking for an individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work well under pressure and meet the challenges of working to deadlines. A successful candidate will be a team player with good organisational skills, flexibility, and the ability to work autonomously. They will be dedicated to delivering a positive patient experience, excellent customer service and effective support to the multi-disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

The Administration Coordinator will work as part of the Neurology Admissions team with the support of a Team Leader.

The main duties of the role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring and reviewing the team email inbox; •    Corresponding and effectively communicating with patients, including via telephone and letter, regarding their care and admission;  •    Liaising with a wide variety of clinical teams and other departments within the hospital, such as Neurophysiology and Radiology; •    Establishing good relationships and effective communication with medical and nursing staff and allied-health professionals;  •    Manage patient bookings and ensuring good record keeping using the Trust’s electronic record system (Epic);  •    Supporting and maintaining patient flow through the Hospital; •    Attendance at the Site’s bed meeting; •    Arranging hotel bookings for patients; and •    Participating in the monthly Team meeting.
