Do you have a couple of days a week to spare and a desire to make a real difference? We’re looking for friendly, motivated volunteers to join our supportive administrative team within the Community Learning Disability team and play a vital role in the day-to-day running of NHS services.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain new skills, build confidence, and see first-hand how the NHS works from an essential administrative perspective. You’ll be fully supported and guided as you develop a strong foundation of knowledge in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Main duties of the job
The volunteer is required to work within the list of tasks identified as follows:
- Responding to enquiries in a polite manner and ensuring an appropriate response is initiated.
- Photocopying
- Filing
- Scanning
- Confidential shredding
- Stocking up supplies / stock control
- Report any concerns to the Supervisor / Service Manager
- Ad-hoc administration duties required to support admin function
- Collation of data and use of Microsoft packages
- Contacting patients to remind them of upcoming clinical appointments

Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
