Job overview

The post holder will provide comprehensive support to the Rheumatology Management Team in the delivery of service objectives and support of tertiary multidisciplinary team . The role will contribute to service improvement, the implementation of change, the standardisation of practice, and the development of effective working relationships with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure efficient service delivery. The post holder will deliver key KPI and  will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to input data to national databases and produce local reports.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the line management of administrative and clerical staff and for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of administrative and multidisciplinary team support functions.

- To manage staff in accordance with agreed service line management arrangements.

- To ensure that administrative services are appropriately resourced and that training requirements are identified and addressed.

- To review administrative provision on a regular basis in order to align resources with clinical demand.

- To ensure the effective day-to-day operation of administrative services in support of service lines and patient care.

- To support and motivate the administrative workforce in maintaining a focus on patient and family experience.

- To manage staff performance in order to maintain high standards of service for patients, consultants, and management colleagues.

- To ensure appropriate administrative cover is maintained during periods of staff absence, including sickness and annual leave.

-To promote a culture of continuous improvement in order to enhance efficiency, improve patient care, and reduce costs.

-To ensure clinic utilisation is maintained and maximised with support from Centralised Services
