Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Acute AHP Service Manager based at University Hospital Crosshouse. This post is offered on a permanent basis.

Hours:

36 hours per week.

From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

UK Driving Licence:

A UK driving licence is essential for this role.

What you will do:

  • Provide vision, leadership, and operational management for Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy within the acute setting.
  • Facilitate the development of evidence-based care pathways, ensuring the quality of Acute Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy services across acute hospital settings in Ayrshire & Arran within available resources.
  • Represent the specialist contribution of Acute Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy services in a range of multidisciplinary and multi-agency forums, including those outwith the organisation.
  • Ensure that robust clinical governance and performance management systems are operating effectively within the agreed service areas.
  • Manage a delegated budget on behalf of the Acute AHP Senior Manager and ensure the most effective use of financial resources across both professions, including consideration of future workforce planning.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required for this post:

  • You must have a relevant professional qualification as a physiotherapist or occupational therapist and hold active registration with HCPC.
  • Evidence of relevant continuous professional development is essential.
  • You will bring a proven record of motivational leadership skills and experience of team management/development.
  • Experience of promoting collaboration and team working across Services, cultivating a network of key relationships is also essential.
  • You should have a sound understanding of the current strategic context for acute services, and allied health. Recent experience of working within an acute setting is desirable.
