We are looking for a confident and compassionate Activity Coordinator with a passion for making a difference to join our team at Cygnet Paddocks in Widnes.
Youllbe working40 hoursper week, Monday to Friday, making a positive difference to the lives of the men in our care. This role involves working some evenings and weekend work.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a passion for healthcare, mental health, occupational therapy support, therapeuticactivitiesand social inclusion. You will help plan and deliver meaningful activities that support independence, wellbeing,recoveryand daily living skills for the men in our care.
Main duties of the job
As an Activity Co-ordinatorat Cygnet Paddocks, you will support and enhance the care of individuals at the service by working closely with the Occupational Therapist and wider interdisciplinary team.
- You will help plan, deliver and promote a wide range of therapeutic, recreational, social and wellbeing activities that are meaningful,safeand person-centred. Encouraging individuals to access and take part in a variety of activities,hobbiesand therapeuticprogrammes
- Supporting people tomaintainexisting interests,hobbiesand social connections
- Assisting the Occupational Therapist with the planning and implementation of therapyprogrammes
- Helping to source and prepareappropriate materials,resourcesand equipment for activities
- Contributing creative ideas for activities,eventsand group sessions
- Facilitating activities safely and in line with individual care plans, riskassessmentsand therapeutic goals
- Promoting recovery, independence, socialinclusionand community engagement
- Supporting individuals to build confidence, develop daily living skills and improve wellbeing
- Working collaboratively with the wider clinical,careand support team
About us
Cygnet Paddocks is our specialist neuropsychiatric rehabilitation hospital for men,locatedin Widnes in theNorth West. The service provides a dedicated care pathway for men affected byacquiredbrain injury or neurological conditions, wherebehavioursthat challenge may be the main barrier to recovery and rehabilitation.
The service supports the Level 1 Neuropsychiatric Rehabilitation Pathway for theNorth West, with a focus on adult males. Cygnet Paddocks has individually designed wards to support a clear and distinctive care and treatment pathway for people affected byacquiredbrain injury.
The in-house interdisciplinary team includes neuropsychiatry, psychology, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy,nursesand support workers, all working together to keep the individual at the heart of their care and discharge planning.

- Experience and/or a genuine passion for working in healthcare, mental health, neurorehabilitation, acquired brain injury, neurological conditions, learning disability services or social care
- Some knowledge or understanding of Occupational Therapy
- A creative flair and the ability to planengaging, meaningful activities
- The confidence to work as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Strong communicationandorganisationskills
