We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly, innovative and supportive Neonatal/Paediatric Therapy Team.
This exciting Band 7 opportunity involves working across neonatal and paediatric services, supporting infants and children with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties. The post holder will provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and intervention for preterm/vulnerable babies, supporting the implementation of developmental care. The post will also include working closely with families and the wider multidisciplinary team including Neonatal Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.
The role provides a chance to work at an advanced level on the Neonatal Unit in a supportive environment alongside experienced Neonatal Therapists. Youll play a key role in providing specialist assessment and management of neonatal and paediatric feeding and communication difficulties.

The post is 15 hours. Flexibility of hours can be discussed at interview.

Managing a complex caseload independently.
Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams.
Supporting parents, carers and healthcare professionals through training and advice.
Participate in service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
Provide supervision and support to junior staff and students where appropriate.
provide support, supervision and training to other professionals in relation to this client group.
Reflect on practice, both individually and with peers to identify own strengths and needs, demonstrate Continuing Professional Development and to maintain a portfolio or equivalent in line with professional and Trust guidelines
Liaise with and effectively communicate with the Therapy Clinical Lead, ensuring issues surrounding Governance and Quality of SLT service provision are escalated appropriately through the Clinical Business Unit/to performance meetings in an appropriate manner.
Participate in the development of innovations in therapy services and related service delivery issues, risk management, quality standard setting and clinical effectiveness.
