  • Develop and implement innovative strategies, policies, procedures, contingency plans, performance dashboards, audit programmes, risk registers and continuous improvement plans.
  • Act as the Trust's expert advisor on waste management, logistics, environmental compliance and associated legislation, providing specialist guidance to senior leaders, clinicians and governance committees.
  • Lead investigations into incidents and complaints, undertaking root cause analyses, implementing corrective actions and ensuring accurate national reporting, including ERIC submissions.
  • Manage budgets, procurement activities, contracts and tender processes, identifying opportunities to secure external funding while delivering excellent value for money.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives through waste reduction, reuse, recycling, improved segregation, route optimisation, digital tracking and the introduction of innovative technologies and environmentally sustainable practices.
  • Oversee courier services, internal mail, distribution and the movement of goods across multiple hospital sites, ensuring safe, responsive and efficient logistics services.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with NHS organisations, local authorities, contractors and other stakeholders to support collaborative procurement, infrastructure development and decarbonisation projects.
  • Inspire, develop and support high-performing teams through effective leadership, workforce planning, appraisal, training and succession planning, fostering a culture of inclusion, innovation, safety and continuous improvement.
