An exciting opportunity has arisen at the National Treatment Centre Ward, for a well organised, hard working and motivated ward clerk, to support our clinical area. The post is worked over 5 days (Monday-Friday). You will be joining a team which is passionate about delivery high quality care and promoting positive patient journeys. The National Treatment Centre Ward provides pre and post operative care to patients having elective orthopaedic surgery. The inpatient ward is a 33 bedded unit, with an adjoining admissions area.

Key ward clerk duties include:

-Call handling e.g. answering calls, transferring calls, dealing with enquires etc-Health record management-Updating computer systems, in relation to ward activity-Maintaining and organising stationary levels-Managing the wards admission/ discharge diaries-Contributing towards maintaining a safe working environment-Provide clerical support to the Senior Charge nurse and the MDT team

Requirements for post:

-Administrative/ clerical experience-Confident using hospital IT equipment and systems-Ability to use IT programmes such as Microsoft word, excel and outlook-Keyboard skills-Candidates must be able to lift/ handle case note folders and bend/ stretch to retrieve file notes and to load/ unload case note trolleys. -Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines-Good English language level and communication skills-Ability to work independently and as part of a team-Reliable, hardworking and good time management skills
