An opportunity has risen for a substantive Part time ( 26 hours/week) post of Clinical Nurse Specialist for Urology Services. The post holder will take an active role in supporting the ongoing development of the urology service to deliver a first class service for urology patients.

Main duties of the job

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced nurse to be part of a forward thinking team and service who will be responsible for providing highly specialist nursing care and advice to patients on urology pathways of care. You will have excellent interpersonal skills with an organized approach to work, the ability to prioritize and delegate and to work effectively as part of a team. You must have demonstrable leadership skills and evidence of change management skills. You will be expected to promote programs of health education and health promotion and to communicate effectively with GPs and the multi-disciplinary team across organizational and professional boundaries.

You will work closely with the Planned Care group Matron who is responsible for our inpatient services at the BRI as part of the Urology, Vascular Clinical Service Unit to ensure the provision of seamless care for Urology patients.

You will be innovative and resilient, with a strong professional work ethic and have experience of working within the clinical specialty. You must be clinically credible with the ability to problem solve and make clinical decisions. You will be committed to promoting and providing excellent quality of care whilst ensuring a safe and well governed service.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will work in collaboration with the Speciality Lead and General Manager for the Clinical Srvice Unit. It is an expectation that the post holder will support the team with the development of the service through the West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts (WYATT), a collaborative of NHS Hospitals from across West Yorkshire and Harrogate working together to provide the best possible care for our patients.

  • Post registration experience at Band 5 (minimum of 1 years)
