Job overview
Working with an established multi-disciplinary team, you’ll provide timely assessment and treatment that helps patients receive the right care when they need it most.
As an Urgent Care Practitioner, you will play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality care for people of all ages presenting with minor injuries, minor illness and acute health concerns. You will work alongside experienced colleagues and partner organisations to ensure patients have a seamless experience and receive the most appropriate treatment, advice or onward referral. The role offers exposure to a wide range of clinical presentations, with opportunities for ongoing learning, development and support.
Main duties of the job
- Assess, examine and manage patients with undiagnosed or acute health needs
- Diagnose and treat minor injuries and illnesses within your scope of practice
- Refer patients appropriately to ensure safe and effective ongoing care
- Support evidence-based practice, clinical audit and service improvement
- Act as a positive role model and provide guidance to junior colleagues
- A registered clinician with experience managing minor injuries and/or minor illness presentations
- Strong clinical assessment, decision-making and communication skills
- Ability to work within professional boundaries while delivering patient-centred care
- Commitment to high standards, teamwork and continuous learning
- Flexible approach to working across services and healthcare settings
