Job summary

Main duties of the job

*To deliver clinical teaching to undergraduate medical students from the University of Birmingham and Aston University during their clinical placements within the Trust. This includes lectures, small group seminars, structured bedside teaching, and supporting clinical skills teaching.

*To support the Head and Deputy Heads of Academy in ensuring that teaching aligns with the curriculum requirements set by the University of Birmingham and Aston University. The post holder will aid students in achieving the learning outcomes for each year of study.

*The Trust provides clinical placements for students in Year 3, Year 4, and Year 5 across multiple specialties. This includes teaching in areas such as Integrated Medicine and Surgery (Year 3), Specialty Medicine (Year 4), and Obstetrics and Gynaecology (Year 5). The post holder will be involved in delivering teaching and supporting students through these modules.

*To be familiar with the electronic curriculum and University web-based learning platform. The post holder will provide support for self-directed learning and guide students in accessing online resources.

*To collaborate with the Clinical Skills Manager and trainers in delivering clinical skills teaching, ensuring students gain the hands-on experience required to complete their Skills Passports and meet competency requirements.
