The post-holder is responsible for the direct clinical care and support of individual patients and patient groups within their area of work. They will work across all areas of the fracture clinic, including the plaster room and outpatient clinics, as required to meet service needs.
The role requires flexibility, including occasional evening and weekend shifts.
Following successful integration into the department, the post-holder will complete training for the BOA (British Orthopaedic Association) Casting Certificate, supported by in-post departmental training over approximately 12 months.
The post-holder must be willing to attend the 6-week residential British Casting Certificate course, which includes practical and theoretical examinations. Eligibility requires a minimum of one year’s experience working in a plaster room.

The post holder will be required to work in all areas of the fracture clinic, these include plaster room and clinics as required to meet the needs of the service.
The post holder will be required to work flexible working patterns including evenings and weekend working occasionally.
The post holder will be required to complete training for the BOA (British orthopaedic Association) casting certificate after successful integration within all the department roles. Training will be given once in post prior to attending the course, training takes approximately 12 months.
