
Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Therapeutic Radiographer to join our progressive and patient centred Beacon Radiotherapy department. Working within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will play an essential role in delivering safe, accurate and evidence based radiotherapy treatment to patients across Somerset and North Devon.
This is a rotational post, giving you the opportunity to develop experience across all radiotherapy treatment areas, including pre treatment, treatment delivery, patient review, and technical processes that support high quality cancer care.
Main duties of the job
As a Band 5 Radiographer, you will:
- Deliver radiotherapy treatments safely and in line with prescribed protocols, regulatory standards, and departmental procedures.
- Provide clear information, reassurance, and emotional support to patients and their carers throughout the radiotherapy pathway.
- Identify, assess, and manage treatmentrelated side effects, referring to other professionals where appropriate.
- Support seamless communication and smooth patient pathways between different teams and care settings.
- Participate in ontreatment reviews, patient education, and assessment clinics.
- Use radiotherapy software systems effectively to document care and support safe treatment delivery.
- Contribute to patientfocused service improvements and maintain high standards through audit and evidencebased practice.
- Assist in the training, supervision, and support of students and assistant practitioners
