We are looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic B5 into our team for 9 months maternity cover.
Lincoln Radiotherapy Department is comprised of three Varian Truebeam linear accelerators, one CT scanner and a brachytherapy theatre. We are national leaders in surface guided radiotherapy (SGRT) and one of the country’s first tattooless departments. We are the regional lead for prostate brachytherapy, providing both high dose rate (HDR) treatment and low dose rate (LDR) radioactive seed implantation. We also offer brachytherapy for gynaecological cancers.
We have several specialist radiographers within the department supporting patients through their treatment. We offer radiographer led review clinics, a late effects service and Macmillan specialist support. We have a Head and Neck Specialist Radiographer and are looking to grow our site-specific specialist team. We have a Consultant Radiographer and trainee ACP in Palliative Radiotherapy to support patients on this pathway.
We are a friendly department with low staff turnover, committed to delivering high quality training for the current and future workforce. We have a Practice Educator for staff and apprentices, responsible for workforce training and education, as well as a dedicated student Practice Educator to support BSc students throughout their placements with us. The department takes part in several national and international clinical trials, overseen by our in-house Radiotherapy Research Facilitation Radiographer.
The ideal candidate will have a BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy and Oncology, and be registered with the HCPC. He/she will have had experience as a band 5 or ready to gain this experience in their 1st post, have good organisational skills and be able to develop good working relationships with all disciplines. Good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are also required.

The post holder will assist in the provision of a high quality Radiotherapy service by working as part of the radiographic team on all the treatment units (linear accelerators) and in the pre-treatment area (CT simulator & palliative virtual simulation) on a rotational basis.
The post is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 7.30am and 7.30pm. Some flexibility will be required, in order to cover these hours by working shifts. You will need to give a commitment to work a minimum of 2 bank holidays per year and participate in weekend on call
You will have the opportunity to work with students, apprentices and ACP radiographers to broaden your knowledge, expertise and experience of the wider radiotherapy pathway.
