Therefore an exciting opportunity has arisen for theatre practitioners to take on a roles at Liverpool Women’s Hospital.
We are looking for forward thinking and highly motivated practitioners, who are able to demonstrate good time management skills, you will also need to possess good communication skill (verbal, written & electronic) and have the ability to work as part of a cohesive team.

This post is suitable for registered staff – RGN and ODP, newly qualified and experienced and you must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post will be primarily recovery however the candidate will be expected if ODP trained to be multi-skilled and work across anaesthetics or scrub additionally.
Main duties of the job
To perform as safe and competent clinical members of the team in theatre and to provide specialised holistic care for the peri-operative patient.
Contribute to an effective, motivated and competent workforce and ensure that high quality standards are maintained and developed.
Ensure the cleanliness of all the Operating Theatre areas and equipment at all times.
Prepare the Operating Theatre prior to and following operative procedures.
Participate in out-of-hours on-call rota as required.
Perform other duties as reasonably required to assist in the smooth running of the Operating Department.
Be responsible for the self-development of skills and competencies.
Maintain a broad understanding of the work of the Clinical Support Services and the Trust as a whole and actively contribute your ideas for the improvement of service provision.

The role advertised has an on-call requirement, this will only be applicable if there is a shortfall of out of hours staff.
Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust operates an On-Call service to ensure continuous, safe care for patients at Liverpool Women’s Hospital. Staff members who are required to participate in the On-Call rota must be able to attend the hospital within 30 minutes of being called and therefore must live within a travel distance that allows them to reach the hospital within a 30-minute journey time.
Where this is not possible, individuals may make alternative arrangements to ensure compliance with the 30-minute requirement, for example temporarily staying with a friend, family member, or in other suitable accommodation located within close proximity to the hospital, any such arrangements would be at the individual’s own expense.

- Previous perioperative experience in theatre environment
- This post is suitable for newly qualified ODPs or for nurses with previous theatre scrub experience.
- Can demonstrate the ability to deliver high standards of care.

Qualifications
Essential
- Qualified O.D.P. or R.N. (Adult)
- Anaesthetic qualification if required for anaesthetic support rota

- Recovery/Scrub qualification
- Diploma educated or equivalent
- Teaching and assessing qualification

- Able to demonstrate good communication skills
