Main duties of the job
As a Bank worker you can work to fill a temporary vacancy or short-term staffing shortages. Our temporary roles will give you loads of variety in different environments; both clinical and non-clinical.
Our In-house Bank Service helps deploy temporary administrative staff across the hospital to support with staffing shortfalls. To efficiently undertake basic administration and clerical duties which may include thefollowing duties as directed: To respond to queries, both face to face, via email and telephone, take messages andpass them on to the relevant member of staff in an appropriate and timely manner. To undertake administrative tasks as requested by senior team members. To deal with internal and external post and emails on a day to day basis. To support the team to maintain accurate, timely and legible records. To provide appropriate reception cover as and when required. To meet and greet visitors as required. To maintain strict confidentiality at all times. To attend and take part in team meetings & regular reviews with line manager. To be responsible for the use of physical equipment and to report any defects inequipment as appropriate. Utilise keyboard (typing and/or data-entry) skills to accurately produce Word, Exceland PowerPoint documents, spreadsheets and presentations as requested. Use Trustcomputer systems (subject to training first) and data-bases to accurately record andmaintain data. Register new patients onto department / hospital computer system
Answer and deal with all incoming telephone enquiries, ensuring relevant information is obtained, clear messages taken and written down only disclosing information that complies with the Data Protection Act. Make outgoing telephone calls as instructed toensure the department/ward runs smoothly. Bleep on-call managers, doctors and colleagues as requested.This job description is an indication of the type and range of tasks that are expected of the post holder, and other duties may be required, in line with the role and the banding.
