Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Team Manager in our FCAMH service. You will have significant post qualifying experience, demonstratable leadership skills and proven ability to manage change in clinical practice.

You will be able to demonstrate enthusiasm to work within Forensic Community services and a drive to continue to develop the FCAMHS pathway in line with both local and national drivers. You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to independently make sound leadership and clinical judgments, whilst working alongside the Senior Leadership team and delivering on the clinical and operational service delivery model. You will have operational responsibility for the overall performance of team and will be able to demonstrate skills in reporting and audit. You will provide Management supervision for the staff team and be able to demonstrate a high level of quality and safety in the service, maintaining Governance across the service. You will be thoughtful and resilient in the way you engage with a multidisciplinary staff team, promoting a compassionate culture and staff wellbeing. You will need strong and effective communication skills, and a positive approach to involvement and engagement.

Main duties of the job

The All-Age Forensic Community Service is a service line within the Forensic Care Group and includes Forensic CAMHS (including Y&H FCAMHS, Focus Secure and Focus Wakefield).

It is our vision to create a collaborative environment between our community forensic services and to develop an overarching clinical trauma informed framework that will support the way in which a community forensic population is understood. The purpose of the role is therefore to:

Be a central part of the Senior Leadership Team for the service, providing an essential operational lens, ensuring good processes and systems to ensure a high-quality service.

To support our services, being clinically led and operationally driven, providing the best possible care for our service users.

To develop strong partnerships with stakeholders and service providers.

Hold operational and performance oversight for the service.

Use established QI processes to facilitate change and establish ways of working and continued improvement.

Support teams working with highly vulnerable, high risk service users in a community setting, ensuring a trauma informed approach is embedded at all stages.

To support in the development of community-to-community pathways, working closely with our wider systems.

Half day clinical activity (consultation/assessment).

Job responsibilities

The post-holder will be responsible for the leadership, co-ordination and management of CAMHS related to meeting the needs of children and young people as identified by the multi-disciplinary team within the Secure Estate. The post holder will carry a small caseload.

To facilitate and be responsible for effective multi-disciplinary / multi-agency team working to meet the needs of all who access the service.

To ensure that mechanisms are in place to manage, monitor and review clinical and admin staffs within the services.

To ensure the effective management and continuous development of the team, providing leadership to all staff which encourages the development of a qualitative, evidence based service.

Clinical Leadership

To ensure effective co-ordination and leadership of the team in delivering agreed assessment and treatment plans as identified by the multi-disciplinary team.

To ensure that individual needs led assessment and treatment plans are evidence based, effectively co-ordinated and outcomes achieved within agreed timescales as directed by the multi-disciplinary team.

To actively encourage and develop service user and carer involvement in the development of individual assessment and treatment plans, and the development of the service.

To encourage and be responsible for the development of a multi-disciplinary team approach in the identification and delivery of assessment and treatment plan.

To develop a culture within the team that supports research, evidence based practice, innovative practice, quality initiatives and is continuously analytical in seeking to improve service delivery.

To support and lead the teaching, assessing and mentoring of students within the service.

Support clinicians to compile reports for the multi-disciplinary agency team as and when required.

To promote the safeguarding of children in line with Trust policies and procedures and in accordance with relevant partnership policies within the secure estate.

Clinical Management

To be responsible for policy and service development and enable other staff within the service to do so.

The post holder proposes and implements policy changes as an integral part of the job which impacts on the whole multi-disciplinary team.

To lead on operational development of the pathways and work in partnership with the portfolio leads in developing the clinical pathways in line with the service specification.

To operationally manage and ensure effective implementation and delivery of pathways.

To ensure that staff are fully aware of and comply with agreed Trust policies and procedures.

Assist the Service Manager in identifying and recording information that will assist in the performance management of the service.

To be responsible for the implementation of the change agenda in line with the modernisation strategy within the service.

Demonstrate effective, flexible and co-ordinated use of allocated staff resources and budgets in meeting the identified needs of the service.

Be responsible for the clinical governance development plan for CAMHS and undertake necessary actions as directed by the Service Manager.

To develop and maintain working relationships with senior managers that are open and supportive.

Be responsible for the development and review of the service operational policy.

To enable and support the development of expertise in accordance with workforce development plans.

To contribute to the development and implementation of an accessible and responsive CAMHS provision within the Secure Estate.

To undertake research and take a lead role in audit, service evaluation and quality management. To use research to support evidence based practice in work with clients and in service planning, development and delivery.
