Kinsley Autism Services is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join the team. This is a full time, 40 hour role. Due to the needs of our residents, you will need to be a driver. Kinsley Autism Services is located in Kinsley Village, near Hemsworth, and around 20 minutes from Wakefield. It is a specialist day care service for adult males and females who are autistic.Our team are committed to providing support to empower and encourage individuals to develop their self-esteem, and the skills they need to live as independently as possible and to accomplish their goals. We want to help each person we care for to take control of their lives, and where possible, work towards a level of independence which fits with their skills, confidence and aspirations.The people we support all have primary supports needs associated with them being on the autism spectrum. We can also support people with mild to moderate behaviours that may challenge.
What you'll be doing
- Provide personal care and support with daily living tasks.
- Encourage and assist participation in activities and community life.
- Support service users in achieving their personal outcomes in the way they choose.
- Maintain accurate records, care plans, charts, and daily notes.
- Build positive relationships with service users, families, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Uphold safety, security, and confidentiality in line with policies and regulations.
- Act as a key worker for individuals, helping them to set goals and track progress.
- Promote choice, independence, and involvement at all times.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing ideas and suggestions.
