Job overview

An opportunity for a Support Time Recovery Worker (STR Worker) has arisen within the Wealden Neighbourhood Mental Health Team, Specialist Older Adult Service.  This multi disciplinary team  provides  assessment, treatment and interventions including the provision of intensive support and treatment to enable people to receive care and treatment in their home setting and avoid the need for hospital admissions.

Main duties of the job

The post holder holder will work alongside doctors, nurses and OT's in providing intensive support and interventions to patients within the Wealden Neighbourhood.  The work undertaken by this post holder will support patients staying within their own homes preventing them from needing an admission to hospital.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder with have specific responsibilities to undertake a range of delegated  intensive clinical   duties in a community mental health setting with the aim of helping people receive treatment & care in their own home setting and avoid the need for admission to  hospital.  The post holder will contribute to the growth and maintenance of key functions of the clinical area by carrying out assigned tasks, involving direct and indirect care to patients under minimal supervision and as directed by qualified staff and/or Team Leader.   Following personal development planning and targeted training the competent practitioner will be  able to work more autonomously in supporting patients providing intensive support and interventions  to them.  As a result, you will have developed a broad underpinning knowledge base at intermediate level and have the ability to evaluate information and communicate with a range of professionals.
