Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Support Services Operative based at Arran War Memorial Hospital. This post is offered on a permanent basis.
Hours:
36 hours per week including 1 weekend in 4.
Hours worked between 7.30am – 6.30pm. Shifts will be agreed in advance on a monthly basis. This likely to be 4 x 7.5-hour shifts with 30min break & 1 x 8.5-hour shift with 30min break.
From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.
What you will do:
Working within Clinical Support Services you will undertake a variety of housekeeping/cleaning and meal/beverage duties. Experience with industrial cleaning equipment, an understanding of food safety standards or working within a healthcare setting, would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given. The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team and good communication skills are essential.
Applicants should be physically fit, understand the importance of cleanliness in a healthcare environment and be flexible in regard to areas worked within Arran War Memorial Hospital.
