We are seeking to recruit highly motivated and innovative practitioners to train as School Nurses and deliver great service to our children and families in Hampshire and Isle of Wight.

Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (SCPHN's) work at individual, community and population level in a preventative social model of health, designed to empower families to take control of and improve their own health and wellbeing.

This is a full-time course with University of Surrey.

Main duties of the job

We are inviting NMC qualified nurses and applicants who will have an NMC pin prior to the commencement of the programme (Part 1, Part 2), to apply for a training contract to complete the PgDip in Public Health Practice, with University of Surrey.

As well as academic study you will experience placements within School Nursing teams across Hampshire.

Successful applicants must have a minimum of a 2:2 honours degree. Applicants who have a Diploma in Education or a bachelor's degree with a lower grade may be considered using the University of Surrey Advanced Standing process.

After the programme there will be opportunities to complete a 60-credit module post PgDip qualification, to top up to a full MSc, following funding application by the employee. Please note the Trust are currently unable to fund the Masters top up and NMC changes may apply.

Please note you need to have an NMC registration before starting the course and a full driving licence including business car insurance and use of a vehicle. This post is subject to Occupational Health Clearance and an enhanced DBS check.
