We’ve been providing patient-centred healthcare to communities in the North East of England and beyond for over 250 years and are proud to be one of the largest NHS trusts in the UK, offering a vast and diverse range of specialist services.
We approach our daily work with the ethos that patients remain at the heart of everything we do, in line with the trust’s Vision and Values and is reflected in our newly launched Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals Strategy.
We seek self-motivated, confident nurses with a natural aptitude for empathy and attentiveness, who can demonstrate a sensitive yet self-assured approach with patients who are often very scared and uncertain for their future.
Acting as an advocate for your patients, you will need authentic communication and listening skills, and the ability to build trust, considering all factors in their response to prognosis and treatment plans. This can require considerable resilience and insight and you will liaise with colleagues from many external partnership services, requiring good coordination and organisation skills.
NO AGENCIES PLEASE
Providing outstanding standards of care, takes a successful multi-disciplinary approach and you will work alongside a large team of talented individuals including medical, surgical, anaesthetic and intensive care teams, allied health professionals, pharmacists and many more.
Our teams also include many nurse specialists and as such there is great scope for progression to more specialist and other senior nursing and managerial roles.
Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
There is a multitude of opportunities for career development within our Trust. Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in particular is extremely important to us, to ensure our staff can fully liberate their potential. You will be encouraged and supported to develop your skills and competencies with dedicated support from our Clinical Educators.
All of our clinical areas are supported and lead by experienced Matrons - contact details are available on our Trust website. Please make contact to find out more and you may be able to arrange an informal visit.
Please note that we are unable to offer alternative interview dates so candidates should be available for the interview date shown on the current advert.
Unfortunately, we are unable to support TEAMS interviews and candidates will be required to attend in person.
The current market for employment is a competitive one, however, we are now opening up our vacancies to nursing staff who have experience of working with haematology and oncology settings and potentially have (or a willingness to work towards) a Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) administration qualification.
Current vacancies:
The list of the vacancies will be finalised and ready for all candidates to review on the day of the interviews due to it being updated regularly. This allows all vacancies to be added during the period up to the interview date giving an accurate list for candidates to choose from on the day.
