The role involves the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients attending the day unit for biologic and advanced therapies, venesection, blood monitoring and related interventions. The post holder will undertake a range of clinical activities, including cannulation, venepuncture, infusion management and patient monitoring, working independently within their scope of practice and in line with Health Board and NMC standards.

Strong communication skills are essential, as the role requires sensitive and effective interaction with patients, relatives and the wider multidisciplinary team. The post holder will contribute to a positive, supportive environment, uphold the Health Board’s values, and support service delivery through effective teamwork, organisation and governance activity.

The role also includes supporting and supervising junior staff and learners, contributing to service improvement, and maintaining ongoing professional development.
