Staff Nurse - Trauma & Orthopaedics

This is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic Trauma & Orthopaedics (T&O) team, working at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

The HTP plan for this unit is to adopt single site trauma, making Ward 32 Acute Orthopaedic Trauma Unit (AOTU) the main trauma care ward for our region.  This will include an increase in the number of T&O beds, which will bring with it developmental opportunities for those with a dream of leadership posts or clinical pathways.

This rewarding specialty requires a multi-faceted registered nurse, with an interest in the deteriorating patient, orthopaedics and silver trauma.

Main duties of the job

Based on Ward 32 AOTU, you will provide care to patients who have a variety of orthopaedic injuries. This includes care both pre operatively - to optimize the patients, and post operatively - supporting the patient on their rehabilitation journey.
