Highbury Hospital have exciting opportunities to join their well established, compassionate and creative teams as a Staff Nurse. We are seeking individuals who are driven, compassionate, empathetic and innovative. We have a vacancy on Redwood 2 and one on Rowan 2 both of which are 16 bedded female acute inpatient wards offering therapeutic and meaningful engagement, care and treatment to a diverse range of woman with varied mental health needs. As a Staff Nurse, you will proactively engage with the wider MDT, formulate care plans, adequately risk assess, engaged in named nurse sessions and support with leading a team with compassion and commitment. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are keen to learn and develop. We welcome applications from newly qualified nurses as well as experienced nurses.

Main duties of the job
We are seeking proactive, compassionate, caring and recovery focused registered nurses with excellent communication skills to join our existing dynamic multidisciplinary team to be involved in extensive assessments and formulations to support the planning and delivery of patients care. The multidisciplinary team all work in a way that is collaborative, evidenced based and responsive to people’s needs.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

The main responsibilities of the job are:
To assess, plan, implement, promote and evaluate safe, creative and effective treatment plans in collaboration with the patient’s diverse needs, their carers and other professionals. Interventions will be evidence based and designed to reduce stress and anxiety, manage risk and aid recovery. To maintain accurate, timely and relevant clinical records both written and computerised. To maintain the safe custody of healthcare records. Responsible for the safe monitoring, management and administration of medication as required by Trust policy. To be aware of and apply the principles of Infection Prevention and Control and to comply with policy, procedure and guidance. To obtain and interpret physical Healthcare observations Demonstrate and be responsible for the safe application of relevant, up-to-date legislation including the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty, safeguarding etc.
You must be a RMN or equivalent and registered with the NMC. You must be able to work flexible hours on a 24hr rota including weekends and bank holidays.
Applicants must have some experience of working within the mental health setting, be flexible, hardworking and compassionate with a desire to work in a fast pace environment.
You will have access to training and development, annual appraisals and clinical supervision.
