We are looking for a registered nurse to cover maternity leave with experience of working in cardiology nursing who has a good understanding of cardiac procedures. Experience of working in a cardiac day unit / cath lab would be advantageous. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously or as part of the wider cardiac team supporting the safe delivery of day case cardiac procedures. The role involves pre assessment, procedural and post procedural care of patients attending for permanent pacemaker insertion, angiograms, trans oesophageal echos, loop implant and explants and dobutamine stress echos. This is a supported role where training and ongoing development will be provided. The successful candidate will receive guidance from experienced team members and mentors and given professional development opportunities. The opening hours of the lab are Monday to Friday 08:00-18:00.

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
