An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our innovative and evolving Speech and Language Therapy Service. We are a specialist service committed to finding new and effective ways of supporting children, young people, and their families to achieve the best possible outcomes.

As part of a period of significant transformation, we are focused on reducing waiting times and ensuring children receive the right support at the right time.

We are continually reviewing and developing our services to ensure resources are targeted where demand is greatest and clinical need is most acute.

About You

• Holds a recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification and is registered with the HCPC.
• Must have completed NQT competencies
• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Embraces and promotes equality, diversion and inclusion in every aspect of their work.

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Team Leader, some of your responsibilities will include:

• To assess and evaluate children referred to Speech and Language Therapy, and their communication context.
• To develop appropriate communication targets and interventions for children with speech and language needs.
• To mentor parents, teaching staff and other carers in skill building communication and the development of nurturing language learning environments for children with speech and language needs.
• To provide information and advice to others regarding the management and care of children with communication difficulties.
• To evaluate therapy outcomes.
