Join our supportive, friendly team to provide high quality stroke rehab in at the Sub-acute Stroke Rehabilitation Unit (SSARU). This post would suit someone with a passion for aphasia rehab or wishing to gain further dysphagia and therapy experience.
Previous experience of working as a registered clinician is preferred but support would be given to develop your skills regardless of experience.
We are looking for someone who can make a real difference to people after stroke, loves providing meaningful rehab on goals that are important to the person and is a great team player.
We are dedicated to providing learning opportunities and regular supervision with our highly skilled team.

Main duties of the job
- To provide specialist speech and language therapy assessment, diagnosis and treatment to adults with communication and swallowing problems within the adult SLT service and stroke team
- To work independently with the support and supervision of clinical leads
- To work on the Sub-acute Stroke Rehabilitation Unit
- To work as an integrated member of the SLT team and stroke team
- To work with members of the multidisciplinary stroke team, including nursing, therapists, and assistant staff
- To be involved in ongoing training to the multidisciplinary team.
- To be part of a wider network of SLTs in Sirona including peer supervision and support

- Knowledge of SLT theory and best practice
- Knowledge of standards and guidelines relating to SLT and stroke
- Competent in SLT assessment and interventions with a range of conditions
- Able to work independently and as part of a multi-displinary team
- Relevant experience of working with adults
Desirable
- Experience in stroke / neurology
- Experience of service improvement or quality projects
- Evidence of working in a rehab unit
