
Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated part time Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist. This 0.6wte, 3 day a week role will be based at Springfield Court/Bideford Hospital and will be part of the highly supportive S< Team, delivering a community speech and language therapy service to children and young people within clinic and education settings across North Devon.

Main duties of the job
The speech and language therapy service within CFHD have transformed to work within the Balanced System framework.
The Speech, Language and Communication pathway consists of Speech and Language Therapists and Therapy Assistants working across Devon and Torbay.
The aim of the team is to ensure that specialist support is easily accessible within the community settings, providing both direct support to children, young people and families, and to the wider community teams.
Everyone in the team is provided with regular supervision, opportunities for training and development.

- Relevant experience of working with children and young people with speech, language and communication needs in community / education settings
- Knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools relevant to working with children
- Well established knowledge of a broad range of appropriate therapeutic interventions to treat children
- Understanding of the principles of clinical governance /audit
- Understanding of the roles of other professionals (relevant to the client group)
- Knowledge of standards of record keeping
Qualifications
Essential
- Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent
- Health Professions Council Licence to Practice
- Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
- Membership of relevant Special Interest Groups
