Main duties of the job
The successful candidate under the direction of the Clinical Neuroradiology Leads will provide support in the provision of routine interventional neuroradiology services with an expectation to support the out of hours stroke thrombectomy / aneurysm coiling service. They will also be expected to take part in some diagnostic neuroradiology service provision and will be given the opportunity to participate / lead in selected multidisciplinary team meetings.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
This is Specialty Doctor post based in the Denmark Hill Neuroradiology department. The post holder will work within the multi-disciplinary team to participate in the routine Neurointervention (predominantly) and diagnostic neuroradiology services with involvement in the extended and out or hours thrombectomy / aneurysm coiling provision. In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the Department, with the opportunity to undertake audit in respect to this modality.
The remit of the post holder is to assist the Neuroradiology Consultant body from KCH with the interventional and diagnostic work and also support selected multidisciplinary meetings and the morning stroke handover meetings.
The role entails liaising with the referring clinical teams where required to implement an optimal plan for clinical needs.
There may be opportunities for the post holder to be part of the Clinical Audit team, reflecting the
Trusts position as part of the Kings Health Partners Academic Health Science Centre. All audit activities will be closely supervised and led by one of the consultant staff, and the post holder will not be expected to generate their own audits unless there is a specific desire to do so.
This is a Trust post and does not form part of an approved training program at present.

Experience

- Dedicated Intervention Neuroradiology training through an accredited Intervention neuroradiology training
- Experience in day to day organisation of Neuroradiology services in a busy Teaching Hospital
Qualifications

- Registerable medical qualification
- [FRCR] or equivalent
Desirable
- Full registration with GMC/GDC with License to Practice.
