The postholder will provide support to the Plastic Surgery team within Kingston Hospital and will share clinical responsibilities with professional colleagues within the department.
The postholder will be expected to work with clinical colleagues and local managers in providing a safe, efficient and effective service for Kingston Hospital. This will include outpatient clinics, minor operating lists and Theatre sessions.

Main duties of the job
To cover the following duties:
- To undertake outpatient clinics, minor operating lists and Theatres sessions at Kingston Hospital for both General and Skin Cancer patients.
- Help develop the service in accordance with Trust policy
- To demonstrate professional excellence and efficient delivery of care in accordance with clinical case load associated with the post.
- To work with the Head of Service and service-line managers to ensure the provision of high quality, effective care which meets operational standards.
- To support the educational and training, medical/clinical audit, clinical risk management, clinical governance and management activities of the service-line.
Appropriate mentoring of the new clinician will be provided within the team.

Clinical Experience
Essential
- Multi-disciplinary specialist Plastic Surgery clinical working within a hospital setting
- Skin Cancer diagnosis and treatment. Local anaesthetic operations, including skin cancer excisions with reconstruction and wound advice

Desirable
- Teaching of junior dental and nursing staff.
- An additional interest which complements the needs of the department
Education/Qualifications
Essential
- Appropriate Registration with the GMC
- Specialist qualifications MBChB
Desirable
- MD or equivalent
- MRCS
- CCST (on the specialist register or within 6 months of CCST)
