We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Trust Grade Doctors at ST4+ level with recent NHS experience in Emergency Medicine. This role is specifically designed to provide senior decision making in both the adult and paediatric emergency department in and our of hours. You will be joining an outstanding team of clinicians who deliver clinical care to the patients of Bradford. We are particularly keen to receive applicants who have experience working in Paediatric Emergency Medicine.
The role is fixed term for 6 months initially but there may be scope to extend. For the right candidate, we would provide support and mentorship towards obtaining the CESR qualification.
Main duties of the job
Working at ST4+ level in the Emergency Department.
Shift Leading / Senior decision making
Will be required to work a line on a 1:6 rota supporting days, nights and weekends.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients in the Emergency Department under consultant supervision.
- Actively participate in clinical decision-making and patient management, including resuscitation and trauma care.
- Work within the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, patient-centred care.
- Engage in teaching and supervision of junior doctors, medical students, and allied health professionals.
- Contribute to departmental audits, research, and service development initiatives.
- Participate in the departmental clinical governance programme, including morbidity and mortality meetings.
- Work a full shift pattern, including nights and weekends, as per departmental rota.

IELTS certificate to be presented at interview. If applicants believe they have adequate communication skills but do not fit into one of these examples they must provide supporting evidence

- Minimum of four years (FTE or equivalent) postgraduate training in the UK (or equivalent EEA training) of which at least 2 years training must be in the relevant specialty or a recognised equivalent training
- Applicant knowledge is up to date and is fit to practise safely
- Commitment for managing professional development
- Evidence of teaching undergraduate medical education

- Experience in the specialty to ST4 or equivalent
Qualifications
Essential
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment
- Evidence of achievement of ST4 competencies in the specialty at time of application and likelihood of achieving ST2 / CT2 competences in specialty by the start date of the post
