Applications are welcome for the above Permanent, part time (8 hours per week) post based in Chalmers Sexual Health Centre.

The Chalmers Gender Identity Clinic (CGIC) aims to provide a person-centred model of care, utilising a multidisciplinary team based approach. The successful applicant will join a wide ranging multidisciplinary team; including specialist nurses, psychiatry, psychology, sexual and reproductive health, reproductive endocrinology, pharmacy and speech and language therapy, in addition to another GP with expertise in Gender Identity care.

This post will provide additional clinical capacity for the Lothian Gender service towards reducing patient waiting lists. There will be opportunities for interested candidates to also become involved in training and service development.

Education and Professional Qualifications

Essential

  • An appropriate range of previous experience in hospital posts.
  • Specialty training in General Practice or equivalent.
  • Eligibility to join local performers list.
  • Maintain GMC specialist registration and hold a licence to practice

Desirable

  • DFSRH (DFFP) or equivalent
  • Evidence of education or formal training in Gender Identity clinical care.

Experience/ Training (including research if appropriate)

Essential

  • Certificate of satisfactory completion of GP Training (CCT or equivalent) or equivalent breadth of experience.

Desirable

  • Other relevant Postgraduate Diplomas.
  • Past practical experience of sexual and reproductive health.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable groups
  • Child Protection Training
  • Evidence of experience in providing Gender Identity clinical services
