An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist to join our team. The role is based in the beautiful Deeside area. You will provide a community service to children 0-18 years in the areas surrounding Banchory and Deeside, based from Banchory Health Centre. You will be working with children and young people and their families in clinic and home settings and will support a range of communication needs including those with complex needs. You will work alongside a Band 4 Health Care support worker.

In recent years the Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) service has successfully developed universal and targeted strands of work alongside its individualised specialist services, which enable rapid response to referrals and ensure caseload flow. The SLT service has also seen a significant increase in its use of digital platforms and technologies across the service.

The Aberdeenshire SLT team is a large and dynamic team covering all of Aberdeenshire. We meet regularly with local mini team and regional full team meetings. We value staff members and focus on their wellbeing. Continuing professional and personal development is well supported and staff members are actively encouraged to contribute to the development of the service as a whole.

The Speech and Language therapists working in Aberdeenshire are well linked to other Speech and Language therapist and clinicians across NHS Grampian.

NHS Grampian Speech and Language teams cover the North East of Scotland serving a region from the cairngorms to the North Sea including coastal moray. The ARI hospital site houses all clinical specialties with the exception of organ transplant and paediatric ITU. NHS Grampian provides healthcare for a population of 540,000 with around 40% living within Aberdeen, 40% in Aberdeenshire and the remaining percentage in Moray.

NHS Grampian provides the perfect solution to all interests and lifestyles. Aberdeen has a very buoyant economy and offers all the attractions of any major city. Aberdeenshire boasts many picturesque towns and villages within easy commuting distance and provides access to a large range of outdoor pursuits including skiing. There are excellent transport links with Glasgow and Edinburgh easily accessed by train and Aberdeen airport has multiple flights top London daily and other destinations across Europe. Assistance with relocation may be available.

Due to the rural nature of this post a car driver and access to a car is essential and the role does require travel around the area. You must be HCPC registered
