An exciting opportunity exists to appoint talented Clinical Fellows to the Thoracic Surgery Department at Guy's Hospital.
Start date can be flexible for the successful applicant(s) and further start dates may be available in 2026. Contract length can be negotiable and will be dependent on applicant experience and suitability.

- Strong leadership and organisation skills.
- An understanding of NHS targets e.g. 18 weeks and the 62 day cancer pathway.
Qualifications
Essential
- Full GMC Registration and hold a licence to practise
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
Desirable
- Royal College of Surgeons membership (MRCS) or equivalent.
Knowledge & Skills
Essential
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Experience of leading a surgical team.
- Understanding of the principles of medical research and statistics.
Desirable
- Peer-reviewed publications or higher research degree relevant to cardiothoracic surgery.
- Management training.
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary setting.
Clinical Experience
Essential
- At least 12 months cardiothoracic surgery experience (at registrar level).
Desirable
- More than 12 months experience of general thoracic surgery at registrar level or equivalent with experience of complex open and VATS surgery.
- ATLS, ALS or equivalent.
- Evidence of achievements contributing to patient care (clinical audit).
